Today is day 8 of my Asian adventure, class started today at 0800 hrs and today's cuisine and lesson was on the Southern US cuisine. After work I headed to Marina Bay Sands and my meeting with Executive Pastry Chef and JWU alumni Alejandro Luna, more on my visit below:

But lets first start with the reason I am here:

The menu/lesson is as follows:
nRoasted Root Vegetables with Apple Juice
nCider-Marinated Duck Breast with Spicy Mango Chutney
nShrimp Creole with Rice Pilaf
nHushpuppies
nChicken and Sausage Gumbo
nMaryland Crab Cakes

Marina Bay Sands:
Resort/hotel/casinos/mall, all in one, is the most impressive all in one facility I have ever been to, the design, the technology, the guest services are amazing.  I first met Chef Alex, in the lounge area of the main lobby, and then for the next hour and a half he gave me a tour of the food & beverage areas.  As well as one of the most impressive views of any city, anywhere, a full 365 degree experience.

Here is Chef Alex's pride and joy: SweetSpot

Note the Boat Shape on top.. this is one of the main attractions of the hotel, a pool, a spa,, several restaurants, a bar and much much more are located here, and here is where you see the 365 degree panoramic view.

Finally at night, I took a quick trip to China Town for dinner and to look around, many of the shops were closing or closed when I arrived so I will be back today.  Chinese New Year is still going on for another day or two, as it is celebrated for multiple days,, Happy Lunar New Year, the year of the rabbit...
