I took the months of January and February off from blogging, but just as mother nature renews the landscape in spring, I am back to share my Culinary, Foodie, Locavore and Gardening Adventures.
Last weekend we "Sprung" the clocks ahead, so now is the time to start preparing the garden. I am looking forward to two upcoming garden sales to purchase my heirloom plants.
First up is the URI to host ninth East Farm Spring Festival, May 8 in Kingston, Rhode Island, sponsored by the Master Gardeners and the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences

Second on my list is the City Farm 20th Annual Rare and Unusual Plant Sale May 19 May 20 in Providence, Rhode Island. The Plant Sale is a community event, and a community effort. All proceeds from the Plant Sale support Southside Community Land Trust's education and community gardening programs, and plant starts that are not sold are donated to over 30 area non-profits.
Until then I will work on preparing my raised garden beds so that in a few weeks I can sow the seeds of beets, various lettuces and other cold hardy plants.. so stay tuned.
Until then, I leave you with a Spring Poem
A Salute To Spring...Spring Time The Best Time
Spring in my step
Spring in the air
Spring!
Spring!
Lingering everywhere.
Spring fever to follow,
But I don't care,
Spring, for new journeys,
I'll meet you there!
Where?
By the garden gate,
You silly thing,
It's an invitation to frolic
So let's begin to sing.
It's Spring!
